JULES BOOKSHELF 3.0

Hi guys! Yes, you are looking at this right. This is in fact, Jules Bookshelf!

To plain white, to very colorful :)

I actually personalized my blog back then (I think 2014? or 2013?), my first design was very dark, like black and red (I had a big fascination with black and red then) and the next year, I wanted it to be more simple and clean, and this was the result. It was really just a few alterations on the previous design, but this year, I wanted to add a pop of color to my blog, and at the same time, show out my style in art.

Thing is, I didn't want it to be too simple, and very template ish? So I took the courage to revamp almost everything in the blog. From the colors, the CSS, the new graphics, and of course the fonts.

You see, after starting college, I started developing this style when it comes to painting. And I wanted to apply that kind of style on my own blog.

I wasn't able to apply everything that I wanted because it would look weird if I did everything I wanted but overall, I am very happy about the outcome of the blog. :D

I hope I get the chance to design other blogs as well.

Hope you guys have a good day :D

#CONFESSRELEASEPH | FILIPINO COHORTS UNITE

A HAPPY DAY FOR US COHORTS

Today was a very happy day for bookworms who love Colleen Hoover. It has been a long while since I was able to attend an event that is specifically for bookworms like me (the last was the Tahereh-Ransom-Rossi signing event, april last year. So, as you see it has almost been a year since I went to an event dedicated on bookworm activities if I may say so freely.

Manga & Anime Review: Kaichou Wa Maid Sama by Fujiwara Hiro

Kaichou Wa Maid Sama
by Fujiwara Hiro (5 Stars)

From Tokyopop:

Brilliant and overachieving, Misaki Ayuzawa is the President of the Student Council at Seika High School, formerly a boys' school. Unfortunately, most of the students are still male and stuck in their slovenly habits, so man-hating Misaki really socks it to 'em in an attempt to make the school presentable to attract more female students. But what will she do when the sexiest boy in school finds out that after school, Misaki works in a maid cafe.

WORST LUCK EVER!!

My trusty computer that I had ever since I was child is having problems once again. Sadly, this means that I can't post much as much as before, which would be... much more less. I do not know when I would be able to get a new computer. As far as blogging goes, I think I would be able to review, but it will not be as frequent as before. Sorry for the blogs I stalk because this means that I won't be online most of the time. :(

I hope I find a swift solution for this :/

The Best of 2013

Oh. My. Gahd.

I still cannot comprehend that yes, indeed, another year has passed. :)

For those of who you that are confused. Yes this is Jules Bookshelf. As I told in my previous hiatus post, that Jules Bookshelf will be having a makeover for the new year. It still has a bit of changes that I'm still working on, so bear with its appearance for now.

I should've posted best couples, not-protagonist-characters, villains, and couples. But after weeks of not posting. I just lost my list of top 10's and 5's :(

Top Books of the Year

  • Charade by Nyrae Dawn was one of the most surprising reads I had recently this year. It took me by surprise, and its definitely more than just its cover.
  • Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover was devastating, awesome and full of swoon moments. I think I ended up falling in love with all of the characters here.
  • Incendiary by Amy A. Bartol defied the usual confines of the book boyfriend. I love that Amy wrote her characters well. Well enough that even though they're very mean people, you can't help but be charmed by them too.

  • Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi had such a hard love triangle to choose over. >:(
  • The Edge of Never by J.A Redmerski Okay. This has got the most tragic, epic, heartbreaking, beautiful, amazing, heartfelt, warm, raw, emotional and so-many-more-adjectives-because-of-its-greatness books of the year.
  • Trust in Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout . Ms JLA also has a habit for making drool worthy guys that I always tend to love... I heart this book... and probably a lot of her other books too.

  • Splintered by A.G Howard has fulfilled my need for a perfect adaptation for Alice in Wonderland
  • Me Before You by Jojo Moyes is one of the few Adult Contemporary Books that I enjoyed this year.
  • Crash by Nicole Williams One of the most memorable guy ever!!!! Judeeeeee <3

  • Sentinel by Jennifer L. Armentrout had justified the meaning of-- "The epic story" I was hooked from the start, to the middle, and to the very end. It was more than just fantastic

Well that's the end of the year. I know I should've posted this when it was still December, but schedule caught my plans. Hopefully, 2014 will be as fruitfull as 2013 was. And so...

Happy New Year and God Bless!

A long overdue hiatus

*ONE BIG LONG SIIIIIIGGGGH*

Hello guys.

I've written this post just to clarify that yes. I am still alive. And that I am still going to write reviews and all that stuff. December isn't really fitting with my schedule, in fact the past three months has not been agreeing with me. Now I don't want to rant about it anyway. Because well... I just don't feel like ranting. BUT! I will be sharing with you guys what you'd expect from me and the blog this next year.

I am actually thinking of having a new blog design. I found that black isn't really the most appealing color. Especially when you read blog posts. By January next year, Jules Bookshelf will have a new look. One things for sure though. Everything will be lighter. White? XD

Most of you, might or might not know. But I am a guest reviewer for Say it With Books <3
I was lucky enough to be chosen by Nuz to be her new guest reviewer. I've not done a lot of review yet because of my hectic schedule, but next year, I'm hoping that I will be posting more reviews and other post up in Nuz's blog.

These are the books that I will be reviewing in an indefinite schedule. Not sure if I'll be posting these any time soon. I think you would be seeing my reviews of these next year :)

  • Chosen at Nightfall by C.C Hunter (3 stars) : Its kinda sad to see the cliche but okay ending. Already reviewed :)
  • Kill me Softly by Sarah Cross (5 stars) : I really really heart this book. Fairy tales for the win!
  • The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden (5 stars) & The Redemption of Callie and Kayden (4 stars) by Jessica Sorensen : This book pretty much squeazed my heart with how sad it was. But nevertheless, I love it <3
And for the info of those who want to know. I will be completely MIA on my blog for the next days of December, off to go to my relatives for the holidays. You might see glimpses of me on GR or Twitter but I don't think I'll be online for a long time. Unless its looking up Feel more on facebook :>

So long guys!! Happy holidays and long reading nights :D

Reader Life Status

4th Year HS is haaaard. ><

Yeah. I'm busy. Uber busy.

Other than handling our School Pageant (I'm part of the arts club in our school), I'm preparing my admissions for different universities as well as these super stress making projects that all piled up.

  • I'm striving to get to my top three choices. Which is Mapua, Asia Pacific and St. Benilde. They all have the best Multimedia Arts Curriculum in Manila.
  • Mr. and Ms. II is going on this month. So I may not be busy with entrance exams or studies. I might be busy with this.
  • I'm getting addicted with my PSP again. So hehe yeah... this is my biggest distraction.
  • I wish I could just read my e-reader while at school, but it will get confiscated so no can do.
  • I'm too tired at times to even write a review.
Well yeah. I feel like a bad person. I can't handle my blog in a more normal basis right now. I'm trying to post my reviews at Goodreads because its easier to write mini reviews right now. I'll try to stabilize my sched, but for now Adios Amigos!!
