Wait For You by J. Lynn (4.5 Stars)
Some things are worth waiting for…
Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.
Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.
Some things should never be kept quiet…
But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?
And some things are worth fighting for…
Wow. So that's what the fuss is all about.
Avery's finally free from the past, leaving her town of Texas has been one of the most easiest choices she's done. Finally away from the past, she tries her best for a new life. But she never thought that this new life of hers involves, a new guy as well. Cameron Hamilton is someone Avery didn't expect would notice her, he's gorgeous, funny, hot, smart. She's trying to find away to get away from him, but that didn't work because they live together, in the same building. With this pet tortoise (I had to add that :D)
Wait For You in all honesty is not really original, and from what I've heard, not most New Adult books are original. But what would make you really like it are the characters. Even though the plot was common and the main problem of the heroine is usual, epic and tragic incidents in high school. I still found myself enjoying it a lot, because of the characters.
First of the list, would Jacob. *dreamy sigh* Jacob. I love Jacob. Everytime that he talks, I bust out laughing. I really love how he always teases Avery, and how I can see that he's what I call, "Gloriously gay". He's one of the people that gave more life to the mix of characters. Another would be Britt. I like her because she's probably the most reliable friend for Avery. I admired her a lot because of how she understand Avery and how she knows all of Avery's cracks. I love Jacob more than her so...As for Ollie and Jase, well they're both hot if you're looking into physical characteristics. But I think I like Ollie more because the story told more about him than Jase. Ollie the type of guy I would like for a big brother, he's all fun and jokes. I like him a lot more because he's also a good friend to Cam.
Now, Cam and Avery made an adorable character because of how I saw how they developed a true relationship. I appreciated the fact that I've seen them grow more in love with each other. The love story came a little later, but I really liked how their relationship progressed through their friendship. Other than their cute banter and funny conversations. I liked both of them as individuals. Avery, I suppose is an independent woman. I admired a lot of things from her, one is her thinking. Sure sometimes it becomes overrated, but I liked her a lot because she used her brain. She thought first. That's one thing that makes her better than most heroines. Then there's Cam. I'm a bit biased at this one 'cuz I honestly love Cam more than Avery. I loved how patient he was, how light and caring he is. He's charming, hot, smart, a bit pervy(In a nice way :D), and the greatest addition? I've not seen anything that would claim him as a douchebag. Nada, none. He's absolutely perfect.
WHY WOULD I RECOMMEND IT?
I've shrieked okay?! In the middle of the night (2 or 3 ish am) because of what happened here! Good looking guy, cute heroine, great story and then there's a great bestfriend and an adorable gay bff. --". Read. It. Now.
